The tar lake. It bubbles, but doesn’t look like anything more than a green lake.
Unique architecture in the park. The museum sits in the middle of a large park, surrounded by tar, bone excavation, and I’m not sure what this building is, but it looked cool.
TAR! This is my favorite tar pit. Easy access. And actually black and bubbly.

The museum. When this property was first purchased in the nineteenth century, a saber-tooth cat tooth was discovered. From the years 1913-1915 over 1 million bones were taken from the site. The museum displays complete skeletons discovered during its construction.

This little buddy’s tusks are fake. Apparently tusks don’t usually survive the aging process. However, they have just found one with tusks preserved.

Dire wolves. I’m not sure why they are dire.

Susina Bakery. Because all those animal bones make you hungry?

Los Angeles Farmers Market. This is its 75th year in existence. Bob’s doughnuts. So good.
