The 160-acre Descanso Gardens in La Cañada Flintridge. This lantern is hanging in the entrance pavilion.
The Descanso Gardens Enchanted Railroad.
The Boddy House, built in 1939. E. Manchester Boddy made his fortune through publishing (the Los Angeles Illustrated Daily News) and preserved his estate, Descanso Gardens, in 1953.
The Boddy House foyer.
Camellias were abundant in one part of the gardens, sort of like a grove with a trail through it.
The lilac section smelled amazing.
Descanso Gardens is close to Hollywood and serves as the location for film and commercials. (Anyone seen the Claritin commercial with the above Japanese bridge, or the Callie/Arizona wedding on Gray’s Anatomy?)
In the gift shop on the way out. I’m not sure what this is, but I like it!
