Miller Motorsports in Tooele has kart racing, Ford Racing School, and the Total Performance Museum that features cars made by Carroll Shelby and the Ford Motor Company.
We started our day at Banbury Cross Donuts with a maple donut and a cinnamon roll muffin.
We were tempted to skip the Miller Motorsports adventure due to the looming storm, but we decided to risk it anyway.
Inside the museum.
The museum was technically closed that day, but the compassionate store clerk let us take a look around.
Our chief purpose in visiting Miller Motorsports was the kart racing.
We watched the professionals racing until noon when they let us commoners give it a try.
The leaderboard.
Our karts.
So we have closed-toe shoes, gloves, a neck brace, and a helmet. The karts can supposedly go over 40 miles per hour. (My dad took this photo.)
After a couple rounds of kart racing, we headed across the parking lot to watch the racing school students in action. The Mustangs paced the students for several laps around the track.
Stopping by the Great Salt Lake viewpoint on the way back. This was the site of Garfield Beach, with “the most famous and finest recreation resort … lunch stand, restaurant, bath houses, and pier leading to the dance pavilion” from 1881 to 1893.
Lunch at Vertical Diner.
Their berry burst smoothie.
Dinner was vegan pizza!
The Xtreme Veggie and the BBQ Beef Cilantro.
