Once the LDS church completes construction of a temple they provide free public open house tours for a few weeks until the temple’s dedication. The Payson temple’s groundbreaking was October 8, 2011, and dedication will be on June 7. It is the 15th temple in Utah. Photos of the interior were not allowed, but they are available online.
After watching the introductory video in the meetinghouse, we were directed through a tent lined with kids who put white booties over everyone’s shoes to protect the temple’s floors and carpets.
The temple’s stained glass features vines and flowers. As you move up the floors, the flowers blossom as a symbol of spiritual growth.
