I’d like to thank Jeff for an inspired and epic fall break. We did eight states, five national parks, four time zones, and over 2,714 road trip miles–all in under ten days. We broke the trip into two parts: the first in Utah, Arizona, and Nevada with Jeff’s parents and the second in the Midwest through Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, and Missouri.
We started in Provo where we hoped to find good fall colors, but it was still fairly green–it’s been so warm here that it looks like fall is arriving a bit later than usual.
Wandering past Bridal Veil falls.
A local stopped to chat and let us know that fall this year wasn’t going to be spectacular because of the heat and the drought. He also praised us for renting a Jeep, as he was driving a Jeep himself (the last with an engine made in Germany).
The odd climate conditions turned the aspen bark a subtle shade of green.

After the scenic drive through the mountains, we swung back through Provo to Mountain West Burrito where they made us fantastic burritos and nachos with vegan cheese and sour cream.
