St. Louis! Our main goal was to see the Gateway Arch.
This is Pizzeoli. They have some of the best vegan pizza I’ve ever had.
This is the Baba with fresh tomato sauce, house cashew “ricotta”, basil, garlic, vegan parmesan, and olive oil. We also got the Vegan’s Delight which has house cauliflower carrot “cheese”, garlic, oregano, mushrooms, vegan sausage, vegan parmesan, and olive oil. Both were wood-fired and really delicious.
We found a nice arch viewpoint from across the river. This is the Mississippi River Overlook, completed in the spring of 2009, which cost $4.2 million and stands 43 feet high.
The view from the Mississippi River Overlook.
We drove across the river to try to get a closer look at the arch, and the GPS directed us to the historic riverfront, which was delightfully paved in cobblestones.
It was difficult to get to the arch due to a large construction project, so we drove around the block a few times.
We even found the St. Louis Cardinals stadium!
It became clear that the construction was not allowing cars to drive close to the arch, so we headed out of town toward Illinois.
