One nice thing about living in Southern California this summer was that I stayed long enough to justify bringing the Mustang down with me. So we were driving to Malibu to hike Solstice Canyon again when Jeff says, “Did you see that!?” Apparently there was a line of mouth-watering Mustangs waiting at the intersection we’d just passed through. So I pulled over and waited.
We’d stumbled into a Mustang meetup, a group that gets together in Calabasas and drives down to Pepperdine where they park overlooking the ocean and admire each other’s cars. So, after some encouragement from Jeff, I jumped in line and started driving with them. I’ve officially become a groupie. It was awesome.
When everyone got to Pepperdine, the owner of this car came over and introduced himself and invited us to participate in future meetups. On the one hand I didn’t feel qualified to participate, on the other hand I was so excited that I couldn’t stop asking him questions. And I got really excited when he said which car was his, because it was my favorite. It’s the only convertible, and it’s a Roush.
I really liked this paint job with the subtle red line.
The guy who owns this all-carbon-fiber car is the meetup organizer.
The video! I took a shot of the cars driving by after we first pulled over to wait for them, then a shot of the Mustangs on the Pepperdine campus (the organizer waves at us to follow them at the end), then Jeff took several slow motion shots of the awesomeness that is driving in a pack of Mustangs down Malibu Canyon Road and through Pepperdine’s campus.
