My dad met me at the Long Beach airport, so we spent some time exploring Long Beach. This is the view of the beach and the bike trail from Bluff Park.
Island White with Island Freeman in the background. Island White has something on it called Oil Road.
Standing on the sand (in the snow boots I wore from Salt Lake City).
On our way out of town we spotted an elusive GT-H, the Hertz Mustang painted black with a gold stripe.
Loma Linda for Christmas Eve dinner.
Beans from Maria’s and chips with salsa, guacamole, and life-affirming nacho cheese dip.
Puerto Rican rice with olives.
Corn salad.
Prepare to be amazed by the Christmas food this year. Mumsey went all out.
A digestion walk to the wash to throw rocks in the mud!
Walking past citrus on Beaumont Avenue.
Grapefruit.

Pomegranates.

The wash!
Getting ready for the throw.
Such great mud.
We found a whirlpool! We discovered that the whirlpool can be disrupted by throwing tiny things in it. We decided to put one end if this large stick in water to see what would happen and were surprised when the whirlpool had the power to lift it off the shore and into its murky depths (like the Lady of the Lake in reverse).
I don’t remember this water tower being on San Timoteo Canyon Road, but it sure looks cool!
Almost Christmas!

Water in the wash, throwing a rock in the foam, the whirlpool, throwing a tiny piece of wood in the whirlpool, and demonstrating the excellent rock-throwing mud.
