The Japanese Garden in Van Nuys is snuggled up next to a water reclamation plant and was originally created to illustrate a use for the reclaimed water.
The garden is based on those enjoyed by Japanese feudal lords in the 18th and 19th centuries. The idea is that you walk around the lake and get a new view from different locations.
Garden plants are selected so that something beautiful is available during all four seasons.

And the water is full of fish!
