For day two of our camping trip, Nene and I walked around Coffenbury Lake.
The scenery was over-the-top gorgeous.
Since it was another hike near standing water, the mosquitos were doing their thing again. When we finished the two-mile loop and moved away from the water, I was surprised at not feeling their little bodies hurtle into my face.
This is Scotch broom, and it was everywhere. (It made the views quite scenic.) The Washington State Noxious Weed Control Board classifies it as a noxious weed because it displaces native plants and has seeds that can poison livestock.
We also drove to the end of the peninsula to see the ocean overlook.
