At elevation 5,477 feet, Washington Pass is closed half the year due to snow accumulation.
The pass has an overlook with a great view of the jagged mountain peaks.
This is the Liberty Bell group of spires (it includes the Liberty Bell, Minuteman Tower, and the Lexington and Concord Towers).
Apparently the spires make for great rock climbing.
I’d originally missed the Washington Pass overlook, so I went back early the next morning.
I had the place to myself! (But judging from the size of the parking lot and the number of viewpoints, it looks like it gets crowded.)
Panning the pass!
