I noticed GupShup walking home one night. It was late, but the place was still packed. And the outdoor eating area was adorable.
So I looked it up. GupShup (according to their website) means “chitchat” or “hanging out.” The idea is Bombay-meets-New York fusion, a blend of new Indian food with modern Manhattan.
They won best restaurant design from Eater in 2019.
The painting at the back of the room is Ayesha On Marine Drive by Karishma Naran. As a woman “you can wear what you want, sit how you want and be who you want.”
The adorable outdoor eating area!
Nene and I had the place to ourselves.
I need this spoon.
We had to save room for all the food we planned to eat that day, so we opted to split the vegan Himalayan Morels dish. It was very. good.
