Alyssa and Mike are married! They invited local friends to their home for a self-uniting ceremony where they read the beautiful vows they’d written. I loved seeing how much these two are into each other.
Nene and I got there early, so we got to take getting ready photos.
Alyssa’s dress (and coat for when it got chilly later that evening).
Photo assistant Nene took this shot.
Alyssa and Susan, two of my favorite people.
The guests did not want for good food.
Dessert was chocolate, lemon meringue, or fig tarts, and then there were individual desserts for the vegan and/or gluten-free crowd. (Which was thoughtful, since there were only two of us.)
Flowers and votives served as decoration. (And those chips on the right were really good.)
Look at them … partners. I’ve seen them pull off classy together and then go straight to silly. Mike is one of the few people I’ve met who might be as smart as Alyssa. And even though they’re constantly joking around, they’re serious about improving the outside world. My favorite part of the day was Mike’s vows. He said that Alyssa was the kindest, most compassionate person he knows, which, if you’ve met Alyssa, is an accurate description, and I love that he values that and listed it first. Congratulations to Alyssa and Mike!
