The peninsula is one of the most breath-taking spots in Southern California, so it’s a must-do when Nene (or anyone) visits.
I usually park at the trailhead next to Terranea Resort. The resort opened on the heels of the recession (in 2009) and must be doing okay to still be there 15 years later. It’s 102 acres, cost $148 million, and is one of the few oceanfront resorts in Los Angeles County (most are in Orange County or Santa Barbara). They can host five weddings at once, and there’s condos you can buy and rent out as vacation homes when you’re not using them. (Which is what I assumed these buildings are?)
There’s also a lovely cliffside trail that runs through that area.
Even though the weather was cold during Nene’s visit, it made for some clear days. Here’s the view to Catalina.
