Second annual “trip to NYC to see how cold it is in January.”
It was much colder this year than last year. I brought a variety of clothes to test out (long underwear vs. fleece-lined leggings, hat vs. balaclava, gloves vs. mittens, etc.), and settled on “just wear them all.”
So by wearing three layers of everything I was able to wander around comfortably, even at night. (Except for that one night on the High Line when it was windy. Even the locals looked cold that night.)

Built in 1930, this was originally the Citgo building. It was the third-tallest building in the world at the time.
