Ah, beautiful downtown Sorrento Valley. Never heard of Sorrento Valley? I hadn’t either. It’s in San Diego, and it looks like someone lopped off the tops of the hills and set sparkly glass biotech buildings on them. If you’re there in the spring when the hills are green, it could be the idyllic capital city in a sci-fi film. (Either that or Top Gun because of the occasional sky-splitting sound that comes from what sure look like F/A-18 Hornets.) But even cutting-edge biotech engineers need to lunch options, so I wandered Google maps to see if Sorrento Valley had any vegan food. I found Gravity Heights’s Hot Agave Wood Fired Pizza. It’s topped with tomato sauce, basil, garlic, cashew ricotta, and hot agave, and it is freaking delicious.
On Google maps this parking lot is nearly empty. Not the case at lunch! I got the second-to-last parking space.
I guess all those car owners were eating at the bar because there were plenty of tables. (They filled up while I waited for my pizza though.)
This area was roped off, but I bet it’s an amazing place to spend a summer evening with your pizza.
