Fall has been merciful thus far (it was 71 degrees two days ago, and students were eating lunch on the lawn in t-shirts). But today cars are sliding around corners, students are slipping across sidewalks (a shocking amount of them still wearing t-shirts), and the news is saying “told you so” about their ominous weather predictions. I’m thinking about how this time next year I’ll be so spoiled by good weather that I’ll whine when it gets down to 50 degrees and I have to wear a sweater to work. So, for the foreseeable future, this is the last time I’ll wake up to the first snow of the season, thinking “Oh man, it’s going to be painful to commute in this,” followed by, “Aww, but it’s pretty.”
