Vegas!!!
My family went because my dad’s cousin was participating in the Sweet Adelines International’s 70th Annual Competition and Convention held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. She and the 88 other members of their all-female barbershop-style Song of Atlanta Chorus sang selections from Chicago, and it was awesome.
I got to Vegas before Nene and Steven, so I had first pick of rooms in our rental house. This is what I chose!
Paris.
The Paris-Bally’s connector ceiling.
The Venetian.
A clue as to how Vegas survives in the middle of the desert.
I got lost trying to find the way back to the car parked at the Wynn, but we ended up seeing this! That’s one more reason Vegas is awesome–wandering is rewarding.
My family went to see Love!
They also got to experience the Wynn Buffet. So. Fun.
Nene tries to hold back while I take a photo.
My dad and I have never been to Vegas together. Shelby Museum!
The museum’s front is half gift shop and half historic cars. The back is the workshop.
Tours are closed on Sundays, but we could still take pictures through the windows. This is where the magic happens!

I’d love to see this on the freeway one day.
We had some time to kill before my plane back to Salt Lake City, so we headed to the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
We’d been telling stories of how last time we were here we drove the loop behind a red Ferrari and a green Lamborghini when my dad glances in the rear view mirror and says, “Look!” Man, those DeLorean drivers have style.
The second DeLorean passenger offered to let me sit on the running board for a photo. So. Cool.
Driving the rest of the loop.

The DeLoreans  start the loop (followed by a new Mustang)!
