The world needs more vegan fruit tarts. Fortunately there’s Pasteles Finos Del Angel in Tacoma, close enough that I could swing by on my lunch break on Friday.
The store front has inflatable donuts on it!
When I walked in and asked for the vegan items, Angel pointed out half the store. There was a case of pastries, a case of cakes, a case of cupcakes, a case of fruit tarts, a couple table-top displays, and a selection of churros.
This was the vegan pastry section.
I went for the fruit tart, and I missed it as soon as I finished eating it. The pastry was light and buttery (and covered with sugar syrup by the time I got it home), the whipped cream was delicious, and the fruit was perfect.
