When I looked up vegan food in Seattle, Cafe Flora topped (or was near the top of) most of the lists. They’ve been around since 1991, serving farm-to-table vegetarian food for anyone who’s interested. They’re community-minded (especially trans justice, racial justice, and food justice).
Plus most items on the menu can be veganized!
I figured it was a must-do, even though it’s supposedly a long wait for a brunch table. But I left the house at 7 am, made it for their 8 am opening time, and snagged the fifth place in line.
I showed these photos to Nene already. (She of the gorgeous guest bedroom fame.) At this photo she gasped (a little too enthusiastically for it to be awe of my photo skills). “That’s House of Hackney’s Artemis wallpaper.” Yep, yep it was. In blush. So if anyone needs an interior design consult, you know who to call.
Cafe Flora has merch!
I went with golden milk and the rhubarb ginger Belgian waffle (a cornmeal Belgian waffle topped with rhubarb-ginger compote, pepita-tahini butter, and spiced oat crumble).
