Since 1992 Piroshky Piroshky Bakery has churned out from-scratch Eastern European-style hand pies (in different shapes so you can tell which one you’re about to eat).

They’re popular–the line goes out the store, down the hall, and around the corner–but they have checkout and crowd-control systems that could rival Disneyland, so the line moves fast.

They have three vegan flavors, one of which sold out while I was in line. (The suspense!)
I went with the vegan “Veggie Chipotle” filled with Field Roast crumbles, black beans, bell pepper, cilantro, onion, and chipotle seasoning. It was tasty! The bread was so soft!
