My parents arrived in Salt Lake City on Saturday just in time to catch some dinner at Vertical Diner.
 The day before, I’d purchased some “you’re done with finals and can finally check out Middle Eastern Pastries’s walnut baklava” baklava. It was heaven.
 
 We made it to our condo at the Zermatt Resort in Midway to start the Christmas festivities.
 The amazing food started with a plate of cookie appetizers (which became a pre-meal tradition).

 Since Nene and Steven were leaving on Tuesday, we had Christmas dinner Sunday night so we could enjoy leftovers as long as possible.
