Last Washington State adventure! Nene and I ate at the Salish Lodge & Spa, which has a vegan menu for dinner. This is the vegan wild mushroom ravioli.
Originally an eight-room inn built in 1916, the 1988 version is an 86-room destination.
We got a window table!
They elevate the usual oil-and-vinegar bread dip by adding roasted garlic and a candle made of coconut oil that gradually melts into the dish. It was so. cool.
The bread was vegan! Olive bread and white bread.
First bonus bite (not vegan), crostini.
My mocktail is ginger-raspberry-lime soda, I think it’s normally called the Pacific Norwest mule.
Nene’s sauteed summer vegetables with eggplant, black garlic, preserved lemon, and pinenut za’atar. This one is vegan.
Nene’s cheese curds and grits! This one is not vegan. Definitely not vegan.
For dessert we had marionberry sorbet.
And for our final bonus, citrus sugar cookies (that weren’t vegan). Overall it was a delightful experience. It’s nice to occasionally go somewhere with cloth napkins and bonus courses, and it was a great way to finish Washington summer.
