First visit to Acadia National Park! The internet said something along the lines of, “… if you can find parking at Jordan Pond … ” so I got breakfast and headed there first.
You can park at the carriage house (which has a restaurant and a gift shop), then walk down to the pond. (The hills in the background are Bubble Rock.)
First I looked for a place to eat my breakfast burrito. There was a stone bench dedicated to a woman who died in 1915. She “dearly loved this spot,” it said. It was a nice spot!
In the madness leading up to the trip I failed to do much research, but it gradually became apparent that there’s a path around the pond.
Hiking around the pond! It’s a 3.3-mile loop.
To promote forest restoration, part of the hike is on this boardwalk.
Halfway around.
Suddenly there was something being loud in the water. It was this little guy and a few of his buddies.
Made it around the pond!
