Spring semester ended in time for me to fly home for Mumsey’s birthday weekend. It was good to escape the cold for a few days. (Salt Lake City seems reluctant to let go of winter. We have had a couple 80-degree days, but then it snowed during finals week.)
I commute through a grocery store parking lot where they have enchanting pink and yellow snapdragons on display. I was excited to see that my parents have the same flower in their yard.
Mumsey’s cooking! I felt like I got that do-over I’d wanted since Christmas.
Maria’s! I think it was better than I remembered. We’ve got supreme nachos, a bean and rice burrito, and chips and salsa. We also had Lotus Garden–vegetarian sweet and sour chicken, and Szechuan green beans.
It was so good to see Kelsi and Bronwyn for dinner at Bronwyn’s interior-decorating-magazine-quality house. And Kelsi brought some fantastic macarons: chocolate lavender, honey lavender, lemon lavender, strawberry basil, Mayan chocolate, etc. Doesn’t matter, they were all melt-in-your-mouth amazing.
Shopping at the local farm store. (The peaches were delicious.)
And of course Kitty, happy to be indoors.
