Originally, I was supposed to head to Florida before Halloween, but then the Florida Airbnb canceled (without reason, with a week’s notice). So I ended up extending my New York stay. I had to get out of my Manhattan Airbnb, so I moved across the Hudson to Jersey City (which is where I’ve been parking the Subaru this whole time).

This mural is near my Jersey City Airbnb. It’s by BKFoxx, an artist from Long Island who paints exclusively in spray paint. It’s called “Warrior (Not Princess)” and was painted in July of 2019.
The Jersey City waterfront is pretty nice. It has phenomenal views of Manhattan and some fancy-looking apartment buildings and restaurants. It also has a good light rail system that runs along the river. Plus they were the first to put up their holiday decorations.

I worried about the weather turning cold if I stayed in Jersey City for a month, but so far it’s been 70-75 degrees and sunny on the weekends. It’s been warmer in New York than back home in Long Beach.
My Jersey City Airbnb host is a foodie, and he sends a list of food places to his guests. Almost nothing was vegan, but the Wonder Bagels place had tofu spread! It’s a bit of a walk, so I’ve only been a couple times, but their scallion tofu spread on an everything bagel is worth the trip.
The cats love the wealth of birds in the tree outside the Jersey City Airbnb window.
