I unloaded the cats at the Airbnb then drove to Winter Park to meet Jeff at Ethos Vegan Kitchen. (This is not the first time I’ve headed straight for Ethos as soon as I get to Florida.) This is the crispy green beans, sauteed in some irresistible-smelling brown sauce and topped with sesame seeds.
The sausage rolls, spicy sausage in flaky pastry dough served with tangy Dijon sauce. (These were really good.)
My lasagna, five layers of lasagna noodles, ricotta, marinara, zucchini, squash, spinach and onions smothered with mozzarella cheese and served bubbling. It was even better the next day when I had the leftovers for breakfast.
Jeff’s meatloaf, homestyle served with mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables.
For dessert we each got the chocolate Amaretto mousse, silky chocolate Amaretto-laced mousse topped with whipped cream and
sliced almonds.
