I decided that I wanted to do the 7-mile round-trip hike to the summit of Mt. Zion in Arcadia. But because we look the long way back and had to park down the hill, it ended up being more like 10 miles. And it was ridiculously hot, humid, and shade-free on the trail. And the summit was mildly anticlimactic with its view-blocking manzanita bushes. Plus someone said they saw a a rattlesnake on the trail. So basically, photos were not my primary goal. But once I was back at the trailhead, eating a veggie burger in the shade, these big gorgeous chickens began wandering around, and I remembered the camera. So, here are the Adams’ Pack Station chickens, the only shot I got from my Mt. Zion summit hike.
