Happy New Year! I wasn’t going to brave the drunk party-like atmosphere of the French Quarter, but then I found out they shoot fireworks over the Mississippi River at midnight. So I stayed home reading a book until the last minute, then walked down to the water for the show.
It was a good show! It was a solid ten minutes with lots of mini-finales interspersed throughout. (And the crowd wasn’t THAT drunk. Actually people seemed kind of tired.) I was standing across the water from the fireworks barge, so it was awesome to watch fireworks shoot up from the boat.
