Road trip to Sequoia.
Lakes on the way.
Lemon Cove, Calif.

The park rangers said we could only drive six miles into the park without chains.
So we got chains.
The roads looked like this at their worst, but were drivable most of the time.
Tunnel Rock!
Moro Rock! This is the closest I got to it, because the road was closed for the winter. But it looks cool.
Big trees.

General Sherman. “This tree is not the tallest or the widest, but the overall volume of its trunk makes it the biggest tree on Earth.” Its volume is 52,500 cubic feet, it has a circumference of 103 feet at its base, a diameter of 36.5 feet, it is 275 feet tall, and it weighs 1,385 tons.
