Perhaps Margate’s most famous resident, Lucy the Elephant.
 The road to the beach.
I’m used to the clouds hovering over the ocean, being held back from the mainland by costal mountains and cliffs, but here the clouds hang over the farmland, and the beach is clear.

 Seventh-day Adventist church!

The real estate magazine calls Ocean City the gold coast.

The food adventures continue with another featured-on-the-Food-Network eatery. Crazy Susan’s is famous, I think, for their S’mores cookies.

 Lucy!
If you purchase a tour, your group will enter the elephant through her left rear foot.
Oops, we were there too early.

 This is a water tower.
The Bashful Banana—maybe the only healthy food on the boardwalk.
The Bashful Banana’s award-winning Banana Whip.
Among other things keeping it separate from the average American community, Ocean City is a dry town. No alcohol sold anywhere.
 The marsh.
 Bunny! by the marsh.
The moon rising over the clouds.

More moon shots before dinner, which was veggie Philly cheese steaks, and Jersey corn and tomatoes.
If ever there were a reason to move to New Jersey, this corn is it. It’s mind-blowingly good on it’s own, but when served with a touch of butter and a hint of salt, it’s all I can think about. The tomatoes are also fabulous, and I’m disappointed that I was so distracted by eating them on top of my cream-cheesed bagel that I forgot to take a picture.
